ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
I graduated from Norwich University, a military school, in Northfield Vermont. Upon graduation, I obtained a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Transportation Branch. I served 2 years active duty and 3 years in the reserves. My schooling also included a Master's Degree in Executive Management from Fairleigh Dickinson in Rutherford, New Jersey.
During my career, I have worked for or with Sherwin Williams, General Electric, Delco, Ford, Anheuser Busch and Dunkin Donuts to name a few. My expertise was in organization, communication, and management development. Experiences in these diverse companies taught me to learn the system, prepare goals and implement.
Nine years ago I moved to Hardeeville and became interested in the history and people of Jasper County. I have volunteered at Agape and Jasper County Schools. I have been a Commissioner and Chairman of the Hardeeville Election Commission, and a Board member of the Jasper County Board of Registration and Election. I regularly attend and speak at Jasper County and Hardeeville Council meetings.
I feel Jasper County needs to be more open in its communication with her citizens. We must aggressively find ways of conveying information to all our citizens. My term on the Election Board has shown me we must be better prepared for the future growth in Jasper County. When I have talked to people they use the phrase “That’s Jasper County” in a negative way. I want to change that phrase to a positive comment. Vote for change, vote for John Kemp.
